Uwe Tellkamp Wins German Book Prize
"Der Turm" Awarded Prize
Uwe Tellkamp’s new novel, "Der Turm"(Suhrkamp) has been awarded the German Book Prize for 2008. The novel, a story about one man’s journey through the East German political system, was selected over other books, such as "Die Abschaffung der Arten" by Dietmar Dath, "Nach Hause schwimmen" by Rolf Lappert, and "Adam und Evelyn" by Ingo Schulze.
