New grant now has a website

Translation funding is just a click away:

Foreign literature in translation is a small, but important section of today’s book market. With all the books being published around the world, finding the right one for a translation can be a daunting task. Or perhaps you were looking at foreign books to publish, but were dissuaded by the costs of a translation.

The Goethe Institute Chicago and the German Book Office present the Helen and Kurt Wolff Translation Grant. This grant will help cover the costs of translation, and also includes a free 25 page sample translation. The grant applies to all the fiction titles listed on the German Book Office’s Rights List, which is created in the spring and fall each year, and contains some of the best German-Language titles suitable for translation. Please also inquire within for fiction not on the rights list. The grant might apply to your title of choice as well.

Interested? Please visit the website for more information about the grant, and links to the German Book Office’s Rights Lists.
