The Börsenverein Is Opening Itself Up
Foreign Companies to Become Members
Starting now, foreign book trade companies can become a member of the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels - German Publishers & Booksellers Association. With this decision, the association is responding to the interests of the international publishers and bookstores with membership. “The opening for foreign companies in the book trade intensifies the cross-national exchange of information and experiences, and is in the best interests of all members of the partnership,” said Alexander Skipis, the CEO of the German Publishers & Booksellers Association.
Through the partnership in the Association, foreign bookstores, publishers, wholesale stores and publishing representatives can immediately be brought into the work of the workshops, and take part in the main gathering of the Association. Also they can engage in the partnership program “Seitenreich” (page rich) with special conditions chosen by the cooperation partners, and use the reduced ad rates for the branch magazine “BÖRSENBLATT” for the German book market. With the internet platform “My Börsenverein” the new members have further access to exclusive information.
For admission of foreign firms into the Association, the same criteria apply as for companies located in Germany. The criteria can be seen on the Association’s website at the link provided. The other condition is that the respective companies must also be members of their national trade organizations.
