Centre for Business & Specialist Media: click to register

New internet presence and digital presentation options

There's a new setting for international specialist and academic periodicals at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2009 (14 – 18 October): the "Centre for Business & Specialist Media" is on show in Hall 4.2, the home of scientific and specialist information, and is intended for both end-users and above all, for B2B customers too. Unlike the display at the PresseMesse which in recent years also included the popular press, the Centre for Business & Specialist Media is designed as an attractive marketplace exclusively dedicated to business and specialist information. Special interest events and a periodical exhibition will provide visitors with information on current topics and contents.

In the Centre for Business & Specialist Media, publishing companies can book entire wall units showing their own logo. A publishing company presentation on the collective stand is available for 795 euros per unit. Until 31 August, individual titles can be registered for display in the periodical exhibition at a price of 75 euros per title.

Furthermore, publishing companies are able for the first time ever to demonstrate their electronic products and services using specially designed presentation modules: the relevant wall units include an internet connection. Exhibitors can individualise these units with company logos or text signs, and flatscreens can also be installed. A display unit of this type costs 1,648 euros, electricity and internet connection included.

The Centre for Business & Specialist Media also has a new look for its virtual presentation. The newly designed homepage www.zentrumfachmedien.de provides all details of the various presentation options and will soon also include information on the programme of events.

For the publishing companies taking part, their target groups are here with them. Hall 4.2 brings together the entire world of specialist information and education institutions – academics, librarians, providers of digital services and educational software, with more than 400 exhibitors from 36 countries.

Deutsche Fachpresse sees itself as a modern marketing and service platform for all suppliers of specialist information in the professional environment and has 420 members. It is backed by the Fachverband Fachpresse e.V. within the Verband Deutscher Zeitschriftenverleger as well as the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Zeitschriftenverlage (AGZV - Periodicals Publishing Companies Group) in the German Publishers & Booksellers Association – Börsenverein.

The Frankfurt Book Fair is the biggest book fair in the world – with more than 7,000 exhibitors from over 100 countries. It also organises the participation of German publishers at more than 25 international book fairs and is associated with the Cape Town Book Fair in South Africa and the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. It maintains the most visited website worldwide for the publishing industry at www.book-fair.com. The Frankfurt Book Fair is a subsidiary of the German Publishers & Booksellers Association.
